Took the streetcar for the first time in a bit and noticed this new module in the gangway between the first and second module. Anyone know what these are for? Potential wifi service in the future?

With only 5 more working days this year, it safe in away to say TTC will not see more cars this year returning from repairs. Not counting Tuesday since there is no flats to be delivery to Hillcrest now.

With 4410 and 4412 going back toward longer delivery dates than the last few cars, it saying TTC is not in need of those cars as well 4471 & 4478 since TTC is planning on cutting service in 2021 for streetcars that will see the heavies service hours cut.

What is TTC planning on doing with the operators of the streetcars who are not train to drive buses, other laying them off or will they replace operators who are retiring?"? Some of the service hours to be cut in 2021 has to do with no service west of Dufferin St for 501 and 501 due to construction for King/Queen/Roncy intersection and work on them.

TTC has no leverage with Alston that I know of who will fully own BBD in January nor with BBD for cars to be repair on their dime. Both companies main focus now is full filling Metrolinx order since they have a high penalty clause for late delivery than TTC had in their contract for the new fleet. Metrolinx does not have a quarter of their new fleet here for the Crosstown Line that needs to be follow by Finch cars and then Hurontario ones.

Will be interesting to see what happens for Hamilton cars if the line makes it back to being built.

No idea what the penalty clause is for Edmonton order nor how many more cars still need to be built.

Depending on when 4471 and 4478 show up in 2021, they will most likely miss the return date by a year since they were to be here Q1 this year. Both cars are almost 2.5 years being out of service now after being damage in 2018 flood.

Now, when do the extra cars now on order start hitting the production line and hope there are stronger penalty clauses in the new contract than the old one??

Hard to say when 4418 will re-enter service since it be only 20 days since been return. It could early January to March when it can see service again.

I thought I posted this info before I left over a week ago.

It looked like 4410 arrived unnoticed as well unannounced and was off loaded Dec 11. It has already done some on street testing. The flat was still at Hillcrest waiting for X car to take 4410 spot back to Quebec when I left. 4425 took 4410 spot on the flat on Dec 23 and is off TTC property. 4410 was off site for 165 days and longer than the last few cars. 4412 could show up this week or next week as it 173 day off site now.

4418 has spending a lot of time on the yard service track before I left and is there again at this time. 4410 in the serviced bay.
 
To bad no number given for the car. That either 4425 going to Quebec or 4412 heading to TTC for off loading next week.
4425 was still in Toronto until Christmas - so it can't be that one. And I'd think if it was 4412, it wouldn't take 3 weeks to unload it.

I'm pretty sure that is 4426 at the front. :)

It can't be 4426 as it just going into service on 503 as I type this.

4425 was loaded on Dec 23 and have no idea when CP pick it up from Hillcrest. This could be the transfer from Lambton to Agincourt yard. With the car behind the locomotives, it could be a transfer from Agincourt to Lambton and the car will be drop off at Hillcrest first.

Based on time frame for a car to show up to be off loaded at Hillcrest, 4412 is the next car from Quebec unless it 4471 or 4478 from Thunder Bay. 4412 was loaded for Quebec on July 9/2020 and it been 175 since it was loaded as well being close to the same timeframe as 4410 that was off loaded on Dec 11.

Since the date of the photo is Dec 10, it has to be 4410 since it was off loaded Dec 11.
