The New Streetcar Implementation Plan is now available for downloading in PDF form (all 35 pages), from this link.
There are many points of interest presented. For example, during the off-peak, the new LFLRV will generally replace one for one current streetcars, except for the 510 Spadina. On the 510 Spadina, instead of a streetcar every 1 m 53s during the mid-day, there will be a LFLRV every 3m 15s. Generally, the headway on the 510 Spadina will be every 3m 15s to 3m 30s, even during rush hour. The other streetcar routes could have wider headways during the rush hours. There are a few headway widening on some routes, but thankfully sparingly.
Delivery of production cars to start later in 2013, lasting until 2019. Proof Of Payment will be implemented by route as new LFLRVs are deployed. Apparently, the platforms on 512 St. Clair will have to upgraded by 2016 for use by the LFLRV by 2017/2018. 510 Spadina and 511 Bathurst will be the first to get the LFLRV by 2014. 506 Carlton will be the last to get LFLRV by 2018/2019.
By end of 2013, we should have 9 LFLRV available. 34 more in 2014, 36 more in 2015, another 36 more in 2016, 39 more in 2017, 36 more in 2018, and 14 more in 2019. Subject to change.
The abbreviation TVM in the PDF stands for Ticket Vending Machine. Other abbreviations you might come across could be PVM (Presto Vending Machine) or SRVM (Single-Ride Vending Machine). There will be two SVRM's per car, which will issue a POP receipt (accepting coins, credit/debit, tokens during transition, PRESTO), no tickets. Tickets will need a ticket validator (2 per car), during transition.
The ALRV's will be the first to be retired starting in 2014-2015. The CLRV's will be retired 2015-2018.
