Wow...

Almost 1/2M for that website. One thing I have to admit is that whoever is the business-development guru at Devlin knows how to sell.

Cheers,

KK

I take it you have some inside knowledge as to what that money paid for? Developers? Software? Hardware? Integration with other systems? Do tell.

Indeed. Just hooking the online transaction processor into a billing platform like Horizon or Billplex could eat up $200k pretty easily.

TTC website up and running...

...the same day as the Sunrise Propane Gas explosion.

Unfortunately, the Service Advisories information is slow on the update. I had checked at 10:30 AM on the Sunday of the explosions, and it listed no service problems. Talk about bad timing. Anyways, eventually they did get information on the website.

Finding the PDF reports and other information is a bit more of a problem, than the old site. Its there, but I had to hunt it down until I got to the Commission Meetings page. It should have a direct line to them. Cumbersome at the moment

I just noticed that there is no link to the full system map on the new website....
Indeed not - http://www3.ttc.ca/Routes/General_Information/Transit_System_Map.jsp

That seems to be incompetence. How difficult was it to link in the existing PDF? The link from http://www.toronto.ca/torontomaps/index.htm no longer works ... - however the Ride Guide is still there, but nothing seems to link to it - http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/pdf/rideguide.pdf

And the old PDF of the subway - http://www3.ttc.ca/Subway/interactivemap.jsp - is no longer there. What they have looks a lot less useful. Doesn't even indicate which stations are wheel-chair accessible, nor can you save it for use off-line.

Where have all the TTC reports and documents gone? - I can still load documents like http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/pdf/service_summary_2008_06_22.pdf, but I can't find an index. Surely those are really easy items to have got working.

The very detailed page on the Spadina Extension, with FAQs and maps, has been replaced with http://www3.ttc.ca/About_the_TTC/Projects_and_initiatives/Spadina_extension/index.jsp this piece of crap.

And I really don't think I can find a mention about transfers anywhere on the Site? Unbelievable!

if you hover over a station name, it'll tell you if it's accessible or not and also has the wheelchair symbol at the stations that are accessible.

Yikes - that's moronic! Kind of like a game of trial-and-error

if you know the station you're getting on and off, it doesn't really matter. but i do agree that this "interactive" map could have some more vital information that can be seen right away, like the accessiblity symbol.

i'm also wondering what kind of changes they are doing to the system map and why they can't just link to the old one in the mean time.

ahh - odd it isn't on the Site Map.

well it's not in the site map because it's a subpage under fare information. however, if you click on the fares & passes in the main bar from the main page, you'll see a link to transfers right way.

I can't find where the PDF's of the Service Improvements for... for 2008 and previous years. It's a good thing I saved copies for myself, but in case of problems on my side I would like to know that achieve copies are available.
