^^I think that looks great. Without a lot of cost or major changes to the building they've made it into a reasonable streetfront.
The largest cost will be getting services into those CRUs. Not insurmountable, but needing services killed the in station Calgary Transit retailers.
 
I'm a fan of anything like this that might provide lasting city revenue. A modest cost to build, years of rental income to follow. I mean, right now it's just wasted space.

Alternatively, that would be a decent place for a gym.

It's kind of funny how they are putting in ground floor retail where there is currently no sidewalk. Not even a sidewalk under the bridge.

Interesting it’s still ongoing. I always assumed they were just going to sell off the project once it got approved, but I like this one it looks pretty good .

Interesting article regarding office conversion. Shared some renderings on how the Barron will look after its converted. 94 rental units and they're looking to add underground parking too. Strategic is also planning on converting 2-3 more office buildings to residential.

I'm a big fan of conversions from office to residential. It'll not only help deal with our vacancy problem (even if it is a drop in the bucket, it still helps), but it'll also help with making downtown more vibrant at all hours of the day. Two birds with one stone. Glad to see Strategic converting a couple buildings.

Looks good! The stretch of 8th ave from 5th street to Mewata Armoury has good potential... but it needs love.
