Have to agree with you Duck. The inverted bowl could have been awesome, or it could have been a one off that leaves the city with a facility incompatible with the next 30 years of arena show innovation (whatever those are).

Would have been nice to see the inverted bowl done somewhere else first, and if successful we could have been one of the newest to have it, but it's a awfully big risk when you only have one shot at it.

One thing that might be cool is to have some natural lighting. A small retractable roof, or some large frosted glass panels with retractable blinds.

As long as it doesn't affect the load bearing strength of the roof to much. I still think a semitransparent roof like the one proposed for CalgaryNEXT could be a good idea if it's feasible.

I saw on the scrolling news banner on Global News this morning that the derelict Kensington Manor building will finally be torn down on April 23/24th. It will be nice to see that eyesore gone, let's hope it doesn't remain a vacant lot for long.
