This is excellent news!!! Do we know if they had to go over budget to get it all open on time? They previously extended it to Spring 2018.

Document says that the YRT Bus Terminal at VMC is also expected to open at the same time as the subway extension.

We already knew this was going to be the case.

It'll be really great if they can get both the vivastation and bus terminal running indeed...

Definitely, it create a seamless experience from day 1.

The condenser that they installed on the roof is just a bad choice. its like 2 blocks just sticking out of the roof in the middle of nowhere. they shouldve picked a lower profile condenser so that it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb

Why? It doesn't really affect anyone.

doesnt affect but its visually unappealing. considering that people are so sensitive about aesthetics these days i expected the design team to have put a bit
more thought on equipment layout

visually unappealing? to whom? nobody will ever see it anyway.
There's no need to complain for the sake of complaining. This little structure is beautiful for what it is, and was built relatively fast. Good for York Region and the contractor!

walk by rhc when you have a chance. unless they plan to screen it, you can see it clear as day. its 2 horns randomly sticking out of the roof. Architecture isnt the only aspect in making the building good looking. Mechanical installation and integration also plays effect to a degree. Credit where its due but just a bit more thought from the mechanical designer on unit placement for that last 2%.

Been to RHC a million times. Never noticed any rooftop infrastructure.
Maybe they could have put more effort in but I still doubt anyone will notice; maybe the people looking down from the towers once they go in :)

Actually, it’s quite visible from the GO bus platforms and the drop off area. Obviously it’s visible from from pedestrian bridge, but it is kind of off to see a thing stick out of the roof.

Sounds like of those annoying things that once you've seen it, you can't unsee it :)
I usually go by there at the movie theatres or whatever and never notice it but I take your word for it!

To be honest, I didn’t post this picture to talk about the appliances on the roof, but as a progress update on the construction. Good discussion anyways.

This is insignificant, but still a nice to have:
