    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

The problem isn't where do you put the station downtown. The problem is how do you get it downtown. Remember this line is being built through Peterborough to Ottawa because the existing rail line through Oshawa, Belleville, Kingston, has too much existing traffic to accommodate a highspeed rail...

This is it, at least in the short term. If there is any retailer who can pull it off it is Canadian Tire.

I would love to see pictures of Union Station before the construction of the new GO Concourses. In particular a picture of Choo Choo's.

These thin beams identify as much larger beams who are any of us to disagree?

So true as long as you ignore the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Air Canada Centre, and Roundhouse Park you could be anywhere on the planet.

Considering Scotiabank's relationship with Cineplex and their propensity to brand entertainment facilities (Scotiabank Centre Ottawa and the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls) I wouldn't be surprised to see this property rebranded with the Scotiabank name.

Considering Roy Scheider has been dead for three years that would be something to see!

That's what you find funny about the render? Look at how the bridge balances on the half wall. I'm no engineer but that doesn't look very sturdy.

The glass in these renders is usually white. The reality is almost always blue or green. Why is that? With what is happening with FCP you would think we would see another white building. Even Apple figured out how to make a white iPhone.

Anyone have any comment on Ford's suggestion that it would be possible to dig out the Rogers Centre to add an additional 15,000 seats? Sounds like quite a feat of engineering. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/987073--councillor-ford-talks-football-again-gets-hate-mail?bn=1

Absolutely not! Who said it did? Who says the government will spend a billion dollars on a new stadium? Harper won't. Don't believe me? Ask Quebec City how likely this government is to fund a professional sports arena. It ain't gonna happen.

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The Government was found in contempt not by a judge or a court of law but by the Opposition that out numbers them in the House of Commons. The report holding them in contempt was written before testimony in committee was heard, testimony that demonstrated the Government actions were consistent...

I find it odd that a site that obsesses on skyscrapers would dare criticize American envy. Are we not all guilty of American envy in cheering on the rise of so many American style buildings? Although the site is called urbantoronto, the urban environment that is being created that we are so...

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Yes it is. First it's big American style stadiums and before you know it we'll want American style skyscrapers. People will obsess over floor counts and building heights. We'll rank our city based on the number of high rise buildings we have compared to American cities. Geeks will discuss the...
