Archetype, I think those are the standard dark floors. Hickory molasses. The upgrade was browner. I too went for the standard white cabinets because I wasn't prepared to pay the huge premium for the high gloss. I was in the sales center the other day and noticed that the standard white cabinets...

I think many people remain hopeful that this thing will get built. Rumour of Tricon Capital's involvement is interesting. Seems up their alley since they're currently financing CASA, Burano, NXT, and a few in the King West area. They probably charge a premium for the risk involved (versus...

I totally agree. Man I wish I was rich. I've got a pretty nice unit (my apartment in CASA is nice too!) but those penthouses are over-the-top.

It appears that they're getting the forms in place for the "hat". Looks to be wider than a normal floor. This is an exciting development. And as Casaguy points out, ceiling height on the 46th floor certainy looks to be more than on 42-45. Possibly 11 or 12 feet? Sadly, I'll be slumming it...

Who knows, but I hope they go from floor to ceiling to provide good privacy. I'm sure thy won't though.

Actually I think it's the underside of the 7th floor balconies that they're painting. I remember it being a flat surface, and not bevelled like the underside of 6.

I just noticed it this evening. Unless my eyes were playing tricks on me, they've painted the underside of the 6th level along the north and west sides of the building. And it looks like they've done some "cutting in" along the south side, up against the windows. We should see this work...

Looks like they're beginning to paint the underside of the balconies, which is great news. This building's going to look fantastic. I hope people don't crowd their balconies with crap.

Replying to my own note: After reading back a page or 2, it looks like several others have already made the same brilliant deduction. And I guess "those structures" are called "hoarding".

Looks like one of the nearby projects under construction might be using the site to build those structures that support concrete floors as a building rises. At least thats what they looked like to me when I walked by.

I never noticed that. Hmmm. Anyway, here's a link to the article that may have started this rumour, if it is in fact a rumour. http://www.dcnonl.com/article/id31216?search_term=casa

I'm pretty sure CASA is 46 storeys. That's what the current info sheet at the sales office still reflects. I've never heard anything about 47, other than what I think was a misprint in a construction trade article quite a while ago, and the odd mention in this forum. Although I could be wrong.

Actually, from casaguy's pictures, it looks like they're just starting to pour the 39th floor.

Thanks, as usual, for those great pictures, casaguy. I count 38 as well. They'll start pouring my floor in a couple of weeks. Very exciting. I hope the underside of the balconies get painted soon.

I was wondering the same thing. Then I took a look around town and noticed several buildings where the undersides of balconies are painted, but the outer edge of the concrete is not. I'm still hoping the undersides of CASA's balconies will be painted, but I would bet that the outer edge of the...

I did not, sorry. :( Maybe next time, although I'm not much of a photographer. Another thing I noticed while I was in there which pleased me was the tickness of the concrete slabs between the suites. A good 12 inches thick. :) I'm hoping these fabulous emoticoms make up for the lack of...

CASA balconies are a full 5 feet deep! Well it's official. I prowled around the site on Saturday, walked through some units, and out onto the balconies, which are a full 5 feet deep. I sort of knew this based the scale drawings from my own unit, various assurances, etc. but it was certainly...

What's all this talk about 47 storeys? I thought Casa was 46 storeys. Am I mistaken?

    Toronto Toronto | Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

Probably because the pre-assembled cookie cutter templates that will now form the floor of each level from 7 up are slightly smaller than the custom built floor form they used for 6. Since the unit layouts are the same from 7 up (at least to 25), they will now just use the crane to pull the...

Casaguy, you're the man! Thanks once again for the pics & commentary.
