Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

^The new lights look quite nice. They were on yesterday during daytime - I expect to test them out. The sidewalks on Temperance and Adelaide are now open. Blue fencing still blocks off access to the building and the plaza.

Well, the Dark Side's forces will be able to get a lot closer to BAC now, as the concrete barriers on Temperance and Adelaide are being removed over the next couple of days, the sidewalks are being opened up and only some blue fencing will remain around the base.

No milling in the lobby will be required. It seems to get the proper full view of the panels without craning one's neck to look up, one must be situated on the Adelaide Street sidewalk looking in. Perhaps this was the intention of the artist.

Looks like I was correct in my count. Framing for the floor slab for the "Level 7 Mezzanine" has commenced on the north side of the building. The ramp slab for the final leg of the parking garage on the south side of the building has also been poured over the weekend.

^See post #2869 for the render posted by Mike. They've poured all of the slab for the west, north and east sides of the "seventh" floor and appear to be one level or so below the "Level 7 Mezzanine". They are presently working on the framing for the ramp up the south side of the building that...

Thanks for the pics, Geekaroo. Has anyone looked at the steel girders being installed in the delivery entrance off of Bay Street? It looks like only really skinny trucks will be able to gain access to the basement and the turntable. Any insight?

There were many artifacts found at the site, under the basements/floors of the Georgian townhouses that were removed on Adelaide. I walked by a few times when the archeological dig was under way. There was no hoarding, just some fencing (or not even) and I got a good look. Various implements...

Another knowledgable poster (drum or someone else, can't recall who) a few months back in this thread stated that Scotia Plaza is the deepest and that this is the second deepest. As has been pointed out a few times, the CN tower has a relatively shallow foundation, as it's built like a Weeble.

I wasn't saying that I liked the absence of a water feature. I was just replying to another post asking if there was going to be one. Still no sign of what the surface treatment for the ground level area of the footprint of BAC2 will be like. Waterproofing, etc. has been ongoing in this area...

The pouring of the floor slab for the west side of the 7th floor is commencing right now.

Looks like it's just a fire escape exit, metal doors and all.

I find myself agreeing with the "tall is good camp" for this location. Among many other reasons, it's the crossroads of our two major subway lines and it can handle and deserves the density. Also, and probably most important to me, I like tall buildings in general and like to watch them being...

The slab for the ramp to the 7th floor has now been poured and the framing for the 7th floor slab is in place at the west end and two thirds of the way to the east end.

No water feature in the main plaza. There is one at cloud gardens across the street. The landscaping features for the footprint of BAC2 have still not become apparent, but I'd be surprised if a water feature is installed there given the supposed temporary nature of that landscaping.

Looks like they will be pouring the east side of the main sixth floor slab tonight. Framing for the slab for the ramp to the seventh floor is up, as is some of the framing for the slab on the west side of the seventh floor.

^ My pleasure. But watch us all get disappointed when it's just an additional fire escape exit or something else mundane, but necessary, like that.;)

^Something is being done, as one of the pillars on the side facing Adelaide is being stripped and refinished. Maybe the entire thing will be walled in a bit more - or maybe not. In addition, just north of that parking entrance structure at the extreme east of the site there is a new flight of...

As this is just a sneak peek, I hope the renderings are updated as part of working on the back-end things.
