Rail ROW just north of Liberty Village

He is somewhat right about the rusty part. 1 of the 4 tracks (2nd track closet to the south if on Strachan) is not used and covered in rust and has been for a while. I'm 99% sure it has something to do with the construction at Queen & Dufferin.

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

I'm Rob Ford because I think it's stupid eliminating right hand turns on red? I get it, you're anti-car. We should just turn all the roads in Toronto into giant sidewalks, bike lanes and the only powered vehicles allowed will be transit. >.>

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

Roads are for cars. Sidewalks are for people. The car is not driving on the side walk. Turning on red lights has nothing to do with making a better neighbourhood. Id rather the cars get out of my neighbourhood faster then to be all conjested and adding extra noise and emmisions to the air...

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

you can say that about any intersection. Doesnt take away the fact that visability is good at queen and dufferin.

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

Ive stood at the corner where your driver side would be trying to turn right out of the tunnel. Visability isnt just fine it is great because of the hill looking left. But I'm sure there will be a no right on red because they like to babysit us and have no concept of what makes better traffic...

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

ugh I really hope they don't add another no right on red, they've already recently added no rights on red at lansdowne and roncesvalles, really not looking forward to another one. The street planners likes to treat people like morons because well, most people are. So I'm sure they will.

    Priceless

It's a great service isn't it. I once used it to tow my car home from barrie to toronto when I had a little too much to drink at my friends university pub and didn't feel like staying the night. Rode with the driver in his truck and my car got a gas free trip home :) so worth the $170 a year...

    Time To Accelerate Freeway Teardowns?

even 200 workers @ $50/hr for 24 hours a day for 4 years (the length of time to complete the smart tunnel) is only $350,400,000. That is grossly overpaying at that. So workers pay still has nothing to do with why a massive project like the smart tunnel cost $500mil and the sheppard stubway...

    Time To Accelerate Freeway Teardowns?

Why can malaysias build a massive project like this for 500mil and it costs us like 2 billion to build a 2km subway.
  10. StIdes

    Priceless

Those numbers are for buying a brand new 2010 car and the financing/interest associated with it. Also 18,000km a year is much more then an average amount of km's a person who lives/works in the city would drive. You can drive for a lot cheaper then $8000 a year if you know a bit about cars...

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

Have they even done any work in the last 2 weeks.. this project is taking forever.

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

Nah they have looked the way they have for eternity. It's part of the character of the neighbourhood. Leave em be. Also, if you paint them they will just be a fresh canvas for graffiti artists.

    Roncesvalles Reconstruction

I didnt know they were tearing up that section of dundas st w aswell!

    Roncesvalles Reconstruction

It made no difference what time of day it was. There are plenty of places to pass streetcars on roncy, it's no different then queen king or college. I don't see them suggesting "bump-outs" for those streets.

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

I'm assuming you mean on the milton-george town lines? Because Liberty Village is heaps close to exhibition.

    New Streetcars

Well that is good to hear. I'll just never get used to low floor buses. They just look awkward inside them.
  17. StIdes

    Roncesvalles Reconstruction

I live at Queen and Roncy and I use to work at Steeles and Keele for 5 years. I would drive north on roncy from queen all the way to bloor at 8:00am every weekday and would probably pass on average 2-3 streetcar. There are plenty of more places to pass streetcars other then queen and dundas...

    Roncesvalles Reconstruction

I'm not "one" of those people. I'm a driver and a TTC user (I mainly only drive for long distances or heavy objects I need to move). I'm one of those people who is sick of the government babysitting us with the trade off of more traffic congestion. I've passed plenty of streetcars on roncy...
  19. StIdes

    Roncesvalles Reconstruction

Wait the bump out idea is actually happening? Yay lets make more traffic! You wanna pass a streetcar? Forget it! That's way to dangerous! I mean it's way too dangerous for people to board streetcars the traditional way like 95% of the rest of the street car lines. Once again the...

    New Streetcars

My mistake they just looked so europeon to me they I assumed they werent a North American design. So are we losing seats on these new streetcars just like we lose with low floor buses?
