    TTC surface stop spacing

Agree on the whole public consultation thing. Transit planners need to stick to their plan, and stop letting the public decide what is best. Public are bias (everyone wants a stop outside their house, or a subway in their community. For streetcars, I think it should be mandatory that...

    TTC surface stop spacing

Agreed. In fact, I think they should use the bulk of the Sheppard LRT money to extend the Sheppard Subway to Warden (say $850M out of the $950M), Vic Park and Warden are 2 of the busiest streets in Scarborough, and there are tons of residential areas between Finch and Sheppard along those 2...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Not sure if 2.) will be acceptable to voters though. People will see converting a subway (good) to an LRT (bad) to be a waste of money (no matter what the actual benefits are; remember perception is more important to get voters these days then actual facts). It will be hard for a politician to...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

For the allocated $1B, I do not think option 1 is feasible. Maybe they should: - Extend Sheppard East Subway to Vic Park (the current 404 and Sheppard area is just awful in terms of traffic, so this will help relieve that area), then they BRT the rest of the way (widen Sheppard all they...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

I still think they should turn the Sheppard LRT into a BRT. With the $1 billion allocated, use some of that to continue widening the lanes from Pharmacy to Markham Rd, and then bring in those new Arctic long buses (will take care of the high loads). Next, use the savings to turn the...

    Transit City Plan

Palmdale is the baffling station. It is literally a 3 minute walk to Warden station. They have an apartment there with a Red Lobster, and a small office plaza. Stop really should be eliminated. Frankly I think Sheppard is better served with a BRT. Use the savings to add to the DRL if...

Real estate agents - why do you do this?

Here is my question. Why do selling agents list a home under the price that the owner wants? When the multiple offers don't meet your owner's real desire, then you pull it off the market?!? Trying to trick and trap buyers into visiting your property is beyond scum; you waste everyone's time...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Removal of only 2-3 Queen St streetcar stops seem minimal considering how long this line is. I think every stop needs to be evaluated (that goes for all the streetcar stops once the implement the new streetcar) and see if there are any unnecessary stops that can be removed.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The Eglinton surface stops (9 in total) actually makes sense. I hope they re-evaluate the Sheppard LRT soon too and remove some of the stops (especially those that are less than 300-400 m apart). Some of the spacing on the Sheppard line resemble streetcar stops rather than LRT stops. Eglinton...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

My vote is still build a BRT (like VIVA up on Hwy7) and use the savings to extend the subway to Vic Park and Sheppard. This helps decrease the gridlock faced between Consumer and Hwy 404, and also serves the business park near Vic Park. Alternatively, use the savings to help build Sheppard...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Sheppard LRT really should be turned into a BRT with the new longer articulated buses. This way, they can keep the popular 190 route between Don Mills and STC (turn down Brimley). Use the savings to either extend the Sheppard Subway to Vic Park (business park and popular Vic Park route), or...

SRT to be shut down for refurbishment (2015)

I still think if they convert the Sheppard line into a BRT, can't they allocate to the savings to extend the BD subway to Sheppard? This makes the most sense IMO.

    Transit City Plan

I am perfectly fine with a BRT on Sheppard. I have lived there for over 20 years, and while there have been some condo development near Kennedy and Sheppard (and some starting on Pharmacy), there really is no need for a subway or a LRT on our street. Sure it gets a little bit busy during rush...

    Transit City Plan

This is what is wrong with our society; people take too long to make a final decision. Everyone wants a piece of the pie and have their own interest. In the end, we get nothing done. The LRT is in place. The only reason for scrapping the idea is to diver the funds into the DRL. Otherwise...

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

Sorry for rehashing this but I just came across this idea on Google and I thought this was an excellent idea. At $1-2 billion to connect Markham and Scarborough directly to Union Station, this is a much cheaper option than some of the other RT options out there. Only issue I see is the corridor...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Noticed on Steve Munro's blog that they are going to build a small ROW on Dufferin from King to the Dufferin loop. Anyone else know if there are other parts of the TTC streetcar route that will add a ROW lane or at least middle curb stations?

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I think that 'Do Not Pass' sign needs to be much bigger. Also noticed there is an electronic sign at the top; perhaps they can have a flashing sign there as well to tell drivers to stop. In the end, they probably have to bring back that giant sticker that they have on our current streetcars.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I am still curious as to how cars are going to know when to stop for passenger boarding. The doors on the old streetcars swing open, so people can see. These new streetcars have sliding doors, so it is hard to know. Will the 'Do Not Pass' sign light up?

    Transit City Plan

Here is hoping that the TTC will seriously reexamine their streetcar stops then and remove some, especially with our new long streetcars coming on board. Anyone know what sort of work they are doing on the Queens Quay line? Was taking the bus the other evening and traffic was horrible, but I...

    Transit City Plan

Yeah which makes it a streetcar line. These are basically St. Clair with slight more spacing between stops and bigger LRVs... I sincerely hope that they will have a passenger request button like streetcars then, because it would suck having to stop at all 26 stops during off-hours.. yeesh..
