    Beautifying Subway Entrances (TTC Report)

Shelter!! Yeah, I don't care what they do as long as they put in some shelters for some weather protection. The stairs in many of these entrances are covered in something akin to ceramic tiles... and whoever thought that was a good idea for a city that gets rough winters clearly was not...

    8 Hours on the Streetcar

Cool. A TTC subway/streetcar scavenger hunt thing would be fun. :)

Design Guild Properties of Davisville (Design Guild, 6s, RN Design)

Very nice. Buildings like this would be great along Bloor and Danforth to keep the scale of the streets similar but allow for some densification along the subway.

2010: Twenty Ten or Two Thousand & Ten?

Twenty-Ten. 1) It has less syllables than two-thousand-and-ten 2) People are lazy, so less syllables = good. :) 3) Just like in the 1900s, people will group the first two digits, and then the last two.... 1984 was nineteen-eighty-four... not one thousand, nine hundred and eighty four.

    Bikes..are they pedestrians or Vehicles?

seperate That's a great idea... and most cyclists would LOVE if there were physically separate bikelanes down the side (or the middle) of every street... but are you as a driver willing to give up 6-8 feet of road space on every road? Probably not. The fact is, we all have to share the...

    Toronto Bike Share

The Attraction of Bixi Why will tourists and even Torontonians use it? Because once you have a membership, the first 30 minutes are FREE! This is assuming that the same payment scheme used in Montreal is used here too. So, yeah, $100 a year (less than ONE metropass) may sound like a lot...

    East Danforth

Yeah... there are apparently plans for a Tim Hortons in the old Roxy/Allenby theatre, too. I bike home past there every day... so if I see any workers I'll ask. :)

Hey DT... I wasn't calling you an extreme cycling advocate. Not sure how you got that impression.

    Toronto Toronto | Bloor Street Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Bloor-Yorkville BIA | architectsAlliance

Wow... this is looking great from a pedestrian viewpoint. I have noticed something funny though... reducing Bloor from 4 lanes to 2 happened with fairly little controversy (except for some of the more extreme cycling advocates making a fuss about bikelanes - although there doesn't seem to be...

Help Spacing compile Toronto clock tower list

Just saw this post on Spacing... and immediately thought that UT was the best place to put a call out for ideas. :) Spacing is hard at work on our summer-fall 2009 issue, but with the on-going City strike, services like the Toronto Archives and the fine people at Heritage Preservation...

Wrecked my suspension in a pot hole on 401 exit, is that City or Provincial land?

MTO or City? Are you sure it's MTO? Hasn't the maintenance of the 401, DVP and Gardiner been the City's responsibility since the Harris downloading years?

    East Danforth

No problem, MJL. My wife and I just bought in the area, we like it so much. It's got issues (what neighbourhood doesn't?), but is still good, and is "up and coming" with young families, even in the slow economy nowadays. The Danforth East Community Association and the Danforth Mosaic BIA...

    East Danforth

Just a note about East Lynn Park - you can tell it's safe at night pretty easily - parents leave lots of toys there over night. You wouldn't see that anywhere where there would be concerns about stuff getting stolen or damaged.
