Danielle Smith to Fraser Institute: "You know, I wonder if an error was made in choosing physician services to be under that umbrella [publicly funded healthcare], because not every time you go to the doctor is it essential".
Danielle Smith praises Ron DeSantis (and Kristi Noem) and says she wants to govern in their style. Does that include the abortion bans? The bullying of critics with the long arm of the state? The book bans? The weird anti-lgbt obsessions?
Ah yes, Danielle Smith was famously opposed to provincial tax dollars supporting the Edmonton arena deal, but has no qualms showering $330 million in provincial dollars on the Flames as an election bribe. Classic "say anything" Dani.
There are some wooden boards on the Jasper Ave-facing sidewalk (you can see them in one of the above pictures); I'm hoping those spaces are intended for trees, because I agree it's a bit unpleasant at the moment without some vegetation.
Karen Shaw, Bill Tonita, and Taneen Rudyk are very strong NDP candidates with significant local governance experience. Would love to see all three of them win.
Partying in a vacant lot on the corner of 101 and 104 on a cold rainy night with a late puck drop is not a great sell. But things will probably turn around, just as (hopefully) the Oilers do.
^During the initial few months of the pandemic, I worked in the mall and I had a hard time getting in.
I still find it pretty bad, to be honest -- i.e. trying to see a movie during an evening and not being able to access any entrances on 102 Ave or pedway connections at that time of day.
Looking at it a bit further... On their Instagram account yesterday, the business said: "The pop up on 108 could be open as soon as next week. Waiting on internet. #staytuned for updates on opening". So it sounds like the Capital Boulevard location will be a temporary or interim space while...
As someone who lives in the area, I actually find this one nicer looking in person than what that photo depicts. And I don't think it looks all that bad in the photo, either!
