    androiduk's My Toronto

Now that the scaffold is down from the Soldiers' Tower at U of T, I can show you what the view looked like when you could touch the top of the pinnacles (now all rebuilt).

    Toronto Toronto | Picasso Condos | 128.62m | 39s | Mattamy Homes | Teeple Architects

This is huge Bravo to this team for proposing this at this location. I am liking that it is not all glass, liking the colour, the playfulness, the uniqueness. I love the trees on the roof gardens.

Article: CN Tower to offer walk on the outside

Couldn't believe this when I read about it on Twitter earlier today. I looked on the way home and yep, the Tower is officially defaced. Blech.

Article: Empire Oversees New O2 Maisonettes Condo Project Near Jarvis and Shuter

It would have been more interesting if Walnut Hall could have been retained and incorporated here. Project is better than OK but as Quentinqat observes it is a whole lot like the Dickinson Maisonettes being demolished only a few blocks away...that was my first impression too.

Article: Bremner Electrical Station To Modernize Toronto's Downtown Electrical System

Fourth option looks weird, others look boring to me. The fourth has some urban attitude though, after some more development it could be cool. So #4.

Article: Alexandra Park Is Set To Follow Regent Park As TCHC Plans Major Revitalizati

looks like a huge improvement. yeah streets that connect

Article: Hazelton Lanes Renovation Includes Expanded Whole Foods and TNT

I would not describe this makeover as exciting, looks like a new handrail and a bunch of plopped random furniture

Article: Cecconi Simone Infuses Great Gulf's One Bloor Condos With Fluid Design

I am thinking this could be kind of awesome. One day it will be dusty denty and tired and people will say what were they thinking but in the meantime it is a welcome relief from conformity, "transitional" furniture and the regular boring shit you see when you are walking around this town.

Article: A New $12.4 Billion Transit Plan For Toronto

Cities around the world use a working mix of every kind of transit talked about and they all have issues over time and they can all work. I'm happy to see a line along Eglinton is actually going to be built, though I didn't mind its earlier incarnation being partly exposed and going farther and...

Article: An Early Look at a new Cityzen project on Front East

Very interesting, there's a lot of density, but also texture, originality. You could actually put some insulation in the walls, and work with the climate more than is usual in the Toronto condo world. Stopped for a coffee in the Distillery District the other day and while it is imperfect, it's...

Article: A Look at Cadillac Fairview's Reno of the Eaton Centre Nine Months In

Liked it a lot better when the project had design integrity. The new railings look awful, cheap, and have little relation to anything else.

Article: Rocket Riders Rejoice: A Quick Exit Has Never Looked Better

I like that they are all sort of the same but different. The public infrastructure is made visible.

New 39 Storey Mixed-Use Building Coming To 21 Dundas Square

I too would rather see a skinnier, rather slicker tower, and 258 restored.

Article: Massive 75th Floor Penthouse Atop Canderel Stoneridge's Aura Condos On View

For that much money the music for the ad has to go upscale and not stop in the middle.

Empire Communities' The Modern On Richmond Growing Skyward

The angled bit looks fantastic from Queen, I think this project will turn out nicely.

Work On Great Gulf Homes And Lifetime Developments' X2 Condos Begins

I think I like aA's version better, and TD better than that.

Excavation Begins For The Bremner Tower & Delta Hotel at Southcore Financial

I doubt that the reflections in the glass are going to look anything like that from Citibank place.

Steeles West Station on the Spadina Subway Extension Rethought

I think this looks fantastic, or it will when it is new before it gets dirty and looks dated, at which point it won't look fantastic. So long as we continue to starve the TTC and our City of funding, we will continue to have broken streets and dirty subway stations. I think Rob Ford will...
