    Toronto Toronto | St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

Steve Munro did a pretty good comparison of 2007 to 2010, although it was of different months. To quote from it "There is not much change in the running times from 2007 to 2010 on weekdays." The difference is actually on weekends. http://stevemunro.ca/?p=4743 My own very unscientific survey...

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Actually the last candidate who took over 10% of the vote put Barbara Hall into office. It was however pre-amalgamation. 3rd place finisher Gerry Meinzer took around 13% of the vote in 1994. Meinzer who was from the right of the political spectrum took enough votes away from incumbent June...

You probably noticed that west of Dufferin is ripped up, again. In the same area, the new trees that were planted in the middle of the sidewalk have all been cut down. By who, I don't know. The reason, possibly that they were dead or that they are right in the way of pedestrians. The old...

    Toronto Toronto | St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

There are a bunch of Cheque Cashing businesses on St Clair West. Heading westward, you would have passed at least 3 by the time you get to Oakwood. There are more after that.

Sure and other business have closed down over the last four years--especially as you go further west. It's very difficult to figure out which of the businesses opened or closed can be attributed to the ROW. The area around Christie was helped immensely by the work done to the Wychwood Barnes...

You actually highlight one of the other issues of the new ROW. The lanes have a tight width. No allocation was made for bikes at all. This is exacerbated by the fact that the lanes are often not straight. There is even less room for a bicycle and a car to share than before. It's not a big...

    Black Creek Drive

It's not a pretty or well organized site, but the information is there. Look to the bottom of each page "Content copyright 2010. The Toronto Party Transportation Committee. All rights reserved." The Contact Us page is also pretty useful to determine identity.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

The better question would inlcude splitting the union membership by public sector and not. What percentage of Toronto voters is each group?

New Bike Lanes on University, Bay, Spadina, and Other Roads

It was from a three year old article. http://spacing.ca/wire/?p=2337

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Actually 25% of workers are union members if one includes the agricultural sector. Public service union membership is going up and private sector membership is stagnating. Of the Canadian unions that have over 100000 members, which comprise over 50% of union membership, only 5 are private...

New Bike Lanes on University, Bay, Spadina, and Other Roads

There was an article in Spacing on this a while ago. Toronto winters are significantly different from Copenhagen. Toronto December: Min -6 Max +1 January: Min -9 Max -1 February: Min -9 Max -1 March: Min -5 Max -1 Copenhagen December: Min +1 Max +4 January: Min -2 Max +2 February: Min -3...

    Toronto Council Races - 2010

Has anyone registered to run against Cesar Palacio? He had very close competition from his left when Alejandra Bravo ran a close second in the last two elections.

    Unions!

The old city of York was not affected by the previous strike because its garbage collection had been contracted out. Actually, somehow part of old Toronto was traded for the York parts of Joe Mihevc's riding and thus was not affected by the strike. This meant that those north of St Clair in...

Star: Poor neighbourhoods growing across Toronto

When I read this article the first thing I thought was is he sure that Toronto's middle class it disappearing or is it just moving to the 905?

St. Clair ROW: What Went Wrong

Hi there. First post here. I wanted to add a few things to the original question of what went wrong with the St Clair ROW. Most of the good and the bad of the St Clair ROW construction has already been covered. I think Cdl.to and hipster duck nailed it. Personally I am unhappy with the...
