Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Seconded. The 3 stop scarborough subway extension is getting built no matter what, but if the city withdraws the funding, other projects that keesmat wants to do and needs provincial funding might get scrapped as revenge.

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

being connected to the backbone of transportation offers flexibility that GO doesn't.

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

After another 5 years back and forth between LRT and subway the price will probably get to 10 billion for the 1 stop xD.

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

But the crosstown LRT is not entirely underground so it's like playing lottery to see whether the section you're driving on is impacted or not.
  5. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Because subway can go underground, so it doesn't matter how wide the roads are in that case.
  6. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Speaking of BRT, I think the kind that highway 7 has creates a similar problem as LRT. But Highway 7 is wide enough to accomodate BRT (maybe the roads were designed with BRT in mind). Anyways, it seems like Josh Matlow keeps pushing LRT even though we really really really hate LRT for all the...

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Alright my bad, he is actually referring to Kennedy. Anyways I wouldn't put too much stock on what Doug Ford says.
  8. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

By Kennedy I assume you mean STC.
  9. S

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Can't believe the Sheppard East subway is finally happening.
  10. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

you mean making STC the most connection station? It would be about as connected as Yonge/Bloor, St.George, and Finch station. So not really the most connected, just well connected.
  11. S

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Only thing I'm concerned about is their ability to procrastinate on these projects ad infinitum.
  12. S

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Sweet Sheppard East as well as SSE. Really conflicted on who to vote for now though.

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Hallelujah! The original 3 stop plan is much better than the 1-stop compromise. With the 3-stop plan, I think almost everyone in Scarborough will be okay with it as opposed to the great divide.
  14. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Well I mean like there must be a reason why all the buses are being routed to STC right now, it's not even a subway station yet. We have transportation planners who get paid to do their job.
  15. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Their Square One isn't on the subway line though, unlike STC which is going to be. I'd connect a whole lot more of their buses to Square One if it's on the subway line terminus.
  16. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Then again, it makes sense for the buses to feed an actual destination instead of just a station with nothing of value there.
  17. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Not to mention all those lines seem pretty hypothetical. For example, I mean Sheppard east LRT is the project that would directly benefit me the most, but one would have to be crazy to think it still has a chance to happen. I mean it should have happened 10 years ago, now it's as good as dead...
  18. S

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

even if scarborough was covered in LRT, it would still be a suburb through and through. then again, the 1 additional subway stop at Scarborough town centre has the potential to transform the immediate area unlike kennedy and victoria park since it's already home to a lively shopping centre...

    Scarborough Centre Transportation Master Plan

the report is addressed to these people: (members of the Scarborough community council): Paul Ainslie Gary Crawford Glenn De Baeremaeker Jim Hart Michelle Holland (Chair) Jim Karygiannis Norman Kelly Chin Lee Neethan Shan Michael Thompson
  20. S

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Cancelling SSE for any kind of LRT would be a downgrade, but extending line 4 to STC would be a good compromise. There isn't really any good destinations on line 2 before you get to st.george and bloor/yonge anyways.
