Jemm's projects always seem to turn out nicely, even if their designs are somewhat conservative. The workmanship and materials just seem to be top notch. It makes me optimistic that their building at 16th near Centre St will end up looking nice, even though the renderings are sort of bland.

If no DP in yet perhaps they were doing some soil testing or something?

O2 is a planning firm. The DP isn't in yet, I wonder if this is just a placeholder or if they have retained an actual architect?

I think street running trams could have a place in Calgary, but more of a local neighbourhood circulator that complements the proper LRT network, like they are in Portland and Seattle. Maybe in places like Marda Loop or between University District and Brentwood. Not sure if the "bang-for-buck"...

Amazing news! With Bucci's new towers in Bridgeland, Vibe and these two all starting up, it's been a terrific couple of weeks for us.

Glad to hear they are starting the conversation at least. A complex issue to be sure, but the status quo can't continue if East Village is ever to thrive.

I actually hate that stupid yellow truck now. It's like, every time I drive or ride by that site hoping for some good news, the truck is always sitting there, crushing my hopes repeatedly.

So I'm fairly certain that Library Square is not under construction even though groundbreaking was in February. Anyone have any intel on that? Either way, I am just shocked and thrilled that anyone is building in East Village right now.

Looks like they are at the 14th floor, so about 20 more to go.

Good to see they are still planning something. I wonder if they'll be able to generate enough interest. Their base prices are higher than Broadway on 17th, and I know where I'd rather live...

It will be nice to get that lot filled in, and also to bring more life to the area. Would be great if someone would do something with that lot immediately to the south facing 16th that has been vacant for ages. At this point I could live with anything short of a gas bar there.

I must admit, they are moving really quickly on this one.
