Joe Ceci's been around for 10 years now in the legislature (following a pretty lengthy run as an alderman), and he's not really a young man anymore, either. I could see him giving up his safe seat for Nenshi, perhaps.

I highly doubt it. A big part of his appeal was his Calgary roots, which he is very proud of, and the hope that he could pull more votes from that city. He’s mostly likely to run in the Northeast Calgary riding where he grew up.

I was skeptical as well, but Nenshi has said he might actually do it: https://thetyee.ca/Analysis/2024/12...esky&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=editorial

In a year-end interview for The Tyee last week, Nenshi talked openly about running in the capital city: “I’m certainly willing to look at Edmonton, because I split my time between the two cities, and quite frankly, I think it’d be good for me to learn more about Edmonton.”

Smitty sucking up to Fox News and Trump…..

Christ...she just gets more and more annoying by the day.

Let's see how the NDP fares in Lethbridge West

Got too hot for the scumbag to handle....
It was a real stupid move by the UCP to support it in the first place. But, this kills off any chance for Smith to relocate herself to Palm Beach and Governor the State of Alberta while golfing at Mar-a-Lago.

Let's see how the NDP fares in Lethbridge West

Need an NDP win.

Had a guy who works in her sector come into our office yesterday. I made a comment about something to do with his work and his response to me was "She's an awful leader and a PoS human being".

Says a lot when the people who "work under her" can't stand her.

But trump said it was an issue, so it must be true.

The amount of people who still take him at his word is insane. He just says things and sees what sticks. Alberta is now spending millions to fix a non issue, just to try and suck up to trump.

He doesn't actually care about the border, and trying to appease him won't make the tariffs go away. He doesn't have a real reason for imposing the tariffs. It's just something he's decided he wants to do, and if he decides to go through with it no amount of bootlicking will stop it. If he wants the tariffs then he will just say that our effort wasn't good enough no matter what.

TBH it is a solution in search of a problem. Really, illegal immigrants aren't pouring across the Alberta/Montana border and probably the illegal drug traffic across the border is also a fairly tiny portion of the total.

Probably mostly just coyotes (the real ones, the animals with fur) crossing through the fields I suspect.
