Montreal has a far more interesting skyline - Vancouver is too homogenous. I do like Vancouver's density, however.

Calgary screams PoMo wannabe big city new money nightmare.

Mississauga and Niagara Falls shouldn't even be on the list - REAL cities, please!

Mississauga skyline

Not to say that it can compete with the other cities on this list, but someone MUST have a better picture of Mississauga's skyline than the one posted above.
That one really doesn't show it at all.

I voted Montreal, but I admit some of the pics of Vancouver in this thread were very beautiful. i just think Montreal looks more grown up. I guess it reminds me more of Toronto than Vancouver does. Vancouver looks like an Asian city lol.

I haven't been to many major cities in Asia but I can see how Vancouver is often compared to them. It's a combination of the density and blandness... most high-rise condos/apartments in asia just seem to be the same building over and over again and are usually the same height - something Vancouver seems to share with them. A lot of asian cities are nestled in between mountains and have a similar backdrop as well.

I can see how people might think that, but I think it's only fair to say Vancouver looks like an Asian suburb, because bland, monotonous residential blocks rarely make up the tallest or even a prominent part of the skyline of most major Asian cities.

As for mountains, the only two major Asian cities with a significant mountainous backdrop to its skyline that I can think of are Tokyo and HK. Many other cities have mountains, of course, but those rarely come into the skyline view from most angles.

Niagara Falls and Mississauga skylines...

Adma: Good Mississauga skyline pic-it is hard to believe that it has totally emerged since the 80s-am I right?
It is hard to believe that there is no GO station there-Is Cooksville the closest station?

Darwin: Good pics of the recent Niagara Falls tourist area skyline-it amazes me that the Skylon and the Minolta Tower once stood out together but with all those hotels and casinos around it it has a bona-fide city skyline now!
Are any of those buildings residential / condominiums or office towers?
