This thread may start to grow 'cobwebs'. If the second shutdown lasts as long as the first (about 3 months), what percentage of restaurants will reopen with likely some restrictions on capacity?
Some did not reopen after the first shutdown and all that did reopen, did so with additional cost (COVID driven) and with a fraction of the business they would have normally done.
All restaurants, particularly those in the inner city missed peaks like Flames pre-game, theater & concert nights, Stampede, conventions and Christmas & New Years parties. How can they be expected to survive at least another 6 to 9 months with much of the same business conditions as 2020? How many owners will want to stick it out when they have already sunk all of their savings, borrowed as much as they can afford to, and exhausted all of the government programs?

Interesting that this thread was bumped today. Two restaurant spaces in 20/20 (Mission) are now newly leased.

Roy's opened last week. They were operating out of another restaurant earlier in the pandemic for takeout only.
Do yourself a favour and get the brussel sprouts and gochujang chicken wings. Your life may never be the same.

This isn’t restaurant related but since we don’t have a retail thread...

It looks like Barre Belle is reopening their Mission location as “Pure Barre”, so that will be good. Mission is refilling with retail fast. That’ll make it 3 restored retail bays this year alone.

A new (I think?) place just opened in Mission in the same building as Jinya and Kuchen.

Also, there’s work underway at the spot directly west of One Night Stans (formerly Ming). Looks like a new spot and they’re building a patio rn.

Oh well, then they were doing updates to the patio.
