'Bustitution'? I love that word!

Great pic, its coming along nicely.

It doesn't look like cladding will be making it onto the Montage tower any time soon though; they've spent the last 2 days putting up a huge Concord banner on the bare structure.

Thanks for the update(s) Canuck. Quite enjoyed seeing colours other than various shades of grey and blue being used at Cityplace, even if it is fake brick...

The brick-colour does look good from a distance. The "fakeness" is quite obvious up close.

Looks like crap from afar too.

Exactly what redeeming value does red fake brick have, design-wise?

^A prime example of what I hate about Cityplace: there should be another condo tower above that podium! Silly small town planners/politicians in this city scare me; cheap developers scare me; I'll never buy a condo here:(

casaguy:

I wouldn't be surprised if the red precast faux-brick ended up aging way better than the white/off-white versions so common in Toronto - the latter is ugly as sin once the dirt sets in.

urbandreamer:

Why should there is another tower atop that podium, exactly - and how does not having one there translate into small tower politicans and planning?

AoD

Because one story groceries stores belong (if anywhere) in the suburbs. Cityplace isn't as dense as it should be: towers on all the 1-3 story podium/townhouses please! I believe that is the main reason cityplace feels like an isolated ghetto.
