I know these aren't downtown, but there's no better place to talk grocery stories on UT.

Organic Garage, which recently opened just off Keele in the Junction, is planning two more Toronto locations for next year, one in Liberty Village at 42 Hanna, and the other in Leaside:

Also cross-posted to Bathurst-College Centre thread.

Retail-Insider saying this morning that it's Freshco (by Sobeys) that will be the anchor retail tenant.

Interesting, considering that the speculation was that Loblaws was going to occupy the space. It's not a bad place for Freshco, as there are no discount grocery stores in the area - the closest would probably be Dufferin Mall.

Update on Metro College Park.

Renos are underway w/new flooring and shelving; I gather they are also committed to adding a Starbucks.

At this time, there is no overt indication that expansion is proceeding.

I asked, staff confirmed they heard the same rumours I have, and they hear expansion is still in play (still discussing the food court area).

I personally find it odd to reno the store if you're at risk of a major layout alteration, but who knows, time will tell.

No idea how fresh this news is, but ONE Properties is apparently planning to build space for a grocery store at Queen and Parliament, about 22.5k sf according to the floor plans here: http://oneproperties.com/queen-parliament-retail/
This mixed-use development will feature approximately 15,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor, a grocer on the second floor and residential suites above.
