I find it interesting that we are still seeing that design for Tower B and the height as well. I'm assuming these are just the original renders they had. Very cool though. I agree with Platinum and that it will really liven up the area.

^^ Done right, the lighting will add great dramatic effect & identity for the district and for Edmonton .
Also needed to boost the winter city initiative & brighten dark winter nights!
I know I will like Stantec's fins lit with LED, and the lighting effects of the buildings hat's.

I have never really liked the advertising signs along 104th Ave by Rogers arena, but honestly haven't spent much time around there in the evening to take it all in.

I'm thinking it will be strange seeing advertising like.... "Drink Pepsi", a quarter kilometre up on top of Stantec.
But sometimes strange is good.
Its our sports and entertainment district,
Loud, bright, and somewhat tacky could work ( ;

The lighting and light-up menu for this building pulls it up to a *** effort. While it is currently Edmonton's tallest building, it could have been more interesting architecturally. It is certainly helped by the potential of its podium and plaza build-out.

Someone on C2E posted a link to this paper on the geotechnical studies done for Stantec and JW Marriott towers. It's technical, but an interesting reminder of how challenging it can be to build tall buildings on our local geology.
