"just a year after the great fire of 1904, which wiped out much of what was south of the Tely building. They sure seemed to have issues with fires 'round about then."

Just for the record: The above quote should be credited to FAC33.

I've just completed an amazing trip along Craven Drive (in east Toronto) via Google Street-View.
This street of amazingly small houses (dozen & dozens of them!) is a real surprise.
Thanks to Spacing Toronto (http://spacing.ca/toronto/2013/02/13/the-tiny-house-society-of-craven-road/) for the tip.

Friends of mine once lived on one of these tiny houses just north of Gerrard. It was a two story affair with two rooms on each floor. On the ground floor was a living room in front, then you stepped over the landing to the stairs to the second floor to get to the kitchen/dinette area. On the second floor there were two bedrooms and world's tiniest bathroom, all with pointed ceilings from the eaves. There was a lil' bitty balcony off the front bedroom that always looked a little dubious to me. That house was likely 700 square foot, tops, if that.

Almost as many cameras as one would find in a crowd today - but not a single digital among them!

It seems to me from those photos that the building at the corner of Bay + Queen (Manning Chambers?) slightly outlasted the rest of the block--albeit likely more for extended-lease reasons...

Does any on have access to a city directory (1936) that would give the address of Oxford Cleaners & Dyers (attached)?
I suspect this may be on Danforth or Woodbine.
