I thought there would be a lot of trips with RER stemming from within Toronto alone. Considering Lakeshore does really well on its own with ridership, especially with the 9 stations that it serves within the boundary (Long Branch-Union-Rouge Hill), not to also mention Weston and Bloor on the UPX, why wouldn't other stations on other lines follow suit and do just as well as them when RER is finished?
Most riders currently who do take GO within Toronto anyways don't really mind the $/rider or fare integration as much as they prefer the convenience and reliability (of course its not all of them, some don't have a choice as they probably live far from a subway line). If there is proper integration in the future then we can definitely see the ridership go up for GO RER regardless of if its a little more costly than just taking the TTC.
