^ Worse yet, Province could flat out deny the funds transfer from Feds to Edmonton, no?

If LRT isn't an option, City badly needs to utilize this grant for at least offsetting the bus replacement costs. Could end up providing major budget relief. Unless this is ear noted solely for capital projects.

Don't know why you'd think the Province would do that,

From my reading these funds would be new projects so new busses could be a possibility, alas the city doesn't have a great track record with O&M

Will the Feds really pay for the whole thing? Like @SarcasticMarmot noted, City's capital project budget is basically maxed and the province likely isn't to provide any funds.
Feds won't pay for the whole thing but they will pony up a 3rd along with the city. They haven't said no before to Fed money. Have they?

In 2026 they could make an application for funds in 2030. By that time there could be room in the budget
Not if Dictator Smith has anything to say about it... - Absolutely NO direct dealings permitted with the Feds

what's the problem, city's currently are there at the will of the province, that way no "special" deals for certain liberal mayors who blindy support attacking the province on orders from Ottawa. Equality eh?
