Are there any examples of automobile racing tracks in the city? I know of one. Anybody?
According to wiki:
I think the name change occurred somewhere around 1980 as I remember it still being the Shell Tower well into the 70's.
Some demolitions will reveal odd treasures.
Somewhere in Toronto - 30-40 years ago, date forgotten.
Just finished watching "Toronto turns 175" on CP24, very nice
"The lettering on the safe: "H Rosenthal Jeweller". I wonder where they where?"
QUOTE. Mustapha.
According to my 1944 December, Toronto Bell 'phone book:
Rosenthal A Co 125 King w. AD elaide 5554.

Here are four photos of a very early CNE midway. The flags on the Manufacturer's building date them to c. WW1. I love the wide open spaces and dirt underfoot. Open drainage ditches are a nice touch as well.
I think it might have been around 1969/70 when Rossin House/Prince George bit the dust. (Incidentally, in that demolition shot, what's that dark brick-looking building in the background? Might give us a hint...)
