Not to mention long-gone chains like Power Supermarkets (below pic taken on Eglinton just west of Bathurst, 1950's):

There also used to be a chain of "Roastaterias".

And to the right of it, the round sign with the once common enjoinder "Lunch", which then became in the youth of some of us here... "Submarines", followed by todays "Burritos". :)

Love the original with its clean marquee and what I'm guessing are vitrolite panels. I'm guessing a furniture store?

But what caught my eye is the labelscar under the billiards sign in the Now photo. Anyone know what was there before?
