Canadians always look down on the USA and such but pretty much are using American products and services and consuming American culture 24/7.

Meaning Canadians are sitting at home watching Friends on Netflix and making IG stories about or Tweeting about it.

Point is that then, you should not wish a curse on the USA...you should hope it becomes better.

Seattle's approach to reopening their economy:

Seattle mayor considers reopening economy 'sector by sector'

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said she would consider a “sector by sector” approach to reopening the Puget Sound economy — if and when coronavirus restrictions are lifted.

Speaking to Yahoo Finance, Durkan said she would weigh a business’s ability to operate remotely to determine which sectors should be allowed to return first.

“[During stay-at-home orders] we had employers who could work from home but we also had a lot of people who couldn’t. Our small businesses, our manufacturing sectors were hit a lot harder,” she said.

Businesses in the Puget Sound region —home to Amazon (AMZN), Starbucks (SBUX), Microsoft (MSFT), and Nordstrom (JWN) — have largely been limited to working from home since Washington issued its stay-at-home order on March 23rd. The restriction followed a spike in coronavirus cases in the state, where 37 of the first 50 deaths in the U.S. were reported.

But last week, Governor Jay Inslee said social distancing measures have been successful in “flattening the curve” in the the state. As of Wednesday morning, 5,379 COVID-19 cases and 372 deaths have been reported in King County.

The state’s current stay-at-home order expires on May 4, though the governor has indicated some restrictions will remain in place beyond that.

“We’re really going to have to be smart about how we open up. We know we have to do it, people want to come back together,” Durkan said. “We want an economy going, but it would be devastating to open up and then precipitously have to close again.”

A three-part plan to reopen the economy

A roadmap for reopening unveiled by Inslee Tuesday night prioritizes statewide testing and contact tracing and calls for phasing-in the reopening of certain businesses while continuing social distancing.

Inslee said the state needs to be processing between 20,000 and 30,000 tests a day for contact tracing to be effective. He’s urged the federal government to help secure additional resources.

“It will look more like a turn of the dial than a flip of the switch,” Inslee said in a public address. “We’re going to take steps and then monitor to see whether they work or if we must continue to adapt.”

As a result of proximity. There are plenty of other countries able to produce social networks and streaming platforms if America couldn't.

Why don't the stores (Loblaws, No Frills, Metro, LCBO, Beer Store, etc.) show how long the line-up would be for on their websites, before the customers come down to the store?

Maybe along with webcam displays from their security cameras.

That is not the point...if some canadians hate America so much why do they use so many of its services and products so much and enjoy its culture.

Because the reality is any Canadian who judges the United States as a single entity is a moron.

I would argue there is greater Regional variations in the United States and then within canada.

The same argument could be said of anyone currently railing against China while shopping at Walmart and the dollar stores.

Canada has been (militarily) invaded only once............and....well, we weren't Canada yet..........in 1812. 208 years and counting. Excepting the Brits burning down the now 'White House' in said conflict, I don't believe the U.S. has ever been invaded; though it was attacked at Pearl Harbour.

The Japanese occupied part of the Aleutian Islands in 1942 and parts of Texas was invaded during the Mexican-American War. Both short-lived.
Technically, we were subject to the Fenian Raids which originated from the US.

Goodness, after the shooting in Nova Scotia anyone impersonating a police officer and pulling over cars or stopping people is looking to be stomped.

I think in just about every place I worked in there was some numpty who had an auctioned police cruiser and purposely kept it looking that way (added antenna, maybe a roof bar). Not necessarily running around impersonating a police officer, just passively.

Germany lost 1.7 million men and 4.3 million soldiers within 25 years in ww1 and ww2

Nothing in our recent histories in Canada or usa comes close.

I concede on that one! :) (even if Alaska should be in Canada).....

and parts of Texas was invaded during the Mexican-American War.

Texas was part of Mexico at the time, according to the Mexicans; and was otherwise an independent Republic, so not the United States til after that war ended.

Technically, we were subject to the Fenian Raids which originated from the US.

I was only counting nation-states, not terrorists............ Seeing as the U.S. denied any involvement and ultimately arrested many Fenians........

If Canada starts invading its neighbour we can expect similar loses. Germany was dumb to start those two wars and paid the price, but to the credit of their destructive ability, the Germans killed a lot more people than they lost.
