No thanks, the government doesn’t need to always be in our business. When I have work done on my car or house I always pay cash. If the provider doesn’t pay his taxes, no my problem.

I imagine in my lifetime Canada will push for the abolition of cash so that they can track everything Canadians do.

On the one hand, I'm not unsympathetic to your viewpoint on this issue. I don't like the gov't minding people's business needlessly.

On the other hand, I like accuracy and efficiency and deplore a 'black market' that thumbs its nose at the rule of law, and forces me to pay more tax to make up for the cheater.

I think its tough to argue for potentially draconian overreach; but equally the status quo isn't all that defensible either.

While ethically a cash-only relationship might make it easier to sleep at night in a customer-provider relationship because the power balance is more or less equal, it seems less supportable in an employer-employee situation. The expose surrounding Fiera foods and their use of temp employment agencies and payday loan shops revealed that.

Not quite - especially if you received a discount for paying cash.

Global News has learned that Scheer is resigning after it was revealed he had been using Conservative Party money to pay for his children's private school education.

#CPC sources tell Global News that members of the Conservative Fund are outraged and demanded Scheer's resignation when they found out party money was being spent on his family's private schooling. Sources say the expenditures were made without the knowledge or approval of the Fund

Well, I certainly didn't think he would have a scandal forcing to resign.

Surprise surprise.

Good. Now toss out the religious nutbars, bring in McKay, vote down the government and toss Trudeau.

That is some wishful thinking that I can approve of.

In Conservative Party speak, you're suppose to say "misappropriated".

Bye Scheer!

What an ignominious end to such a mediocre leader. Such a Wonderbread-esque leader, no flavour, vision, or spirit, and as such- no passion ignited amongst Conservatives beyond a common disdain for Trudeau.

Honestly they should have just gone for Bernier for the maximum amount of amusing anti-establishment chaos it would have produced. Maybe even better electoral results, even.
