On the flip side, the kid from Hudak's riding is now an assistant to the education minister.

I assume the message is sarcastic considering the "City Hall Casino" item.

Anyway, the first interview granted by Doughie was "Ford Nation Live", his own fake news site that promoted camping ads as news articles.

I don't think it's sarcastic at all. The City Hall Casino I didn't understand. Did you see what was written on his t-shirt?

It's interesting to see all this coverage of Doug Ford from outsiders and how it's framed.

BBC: Doug Ford: Brother of notorious Rob Ford takes over Ontario

earlier in the month, when Ford won

NPR: Doug Ford, Brother Of Late Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, Elected Premier Of Ontario

South China morning post: Canada’s Trump: Doug Ford, populist brother of crack-smoking Toronto mayor Rob Ford, wins Ontario election

Many, though not all the headlines from outsiders mention his brother. If it hadn't been for Rob Ford, Doug wouldn't be getting all this attention from outside Canada.

What about the notion that having low-wages allows for low-skill workers, thus encouraging high school dropouts and a failure to further advance ones skills before entering the workforce?

What about considering that raising average wages, and yes, to a lesser degree prices paid for products and services, will actually result in higher GDP per capita, and we know this because of Northern Europe and Australia?

I have no problem with statistics.

I have every problem with people citing them to justify bad public policy because they don't understand the underlying economics and simply accepted a rather biased editorial perspective.

Canada already has a pretty educated (in terms of years of schooling) populace relative to many countries. There also needs to be more high-skill work in the country created for people to do. To avoid the "overqualified young person or recent graduate working low wage jobs" problem.

Hold up...according to the Daily Mail, Renata and Dougie Jr. were at the swearing in ceremony? That's an interesting turn of events after her filing the lawsuit against Dofo...

Dougie is off to an amazing start--he just invented democracy...

Official Ontario news release characterizes itself as the new government that is the "first ever government for the people."

For some of the people. Like 40% of 65% of 85% of the people. OK, I made up that last number, I don't know how many non-citizens live in Ontario as a percentage of the population.

Doesn't matter....all our governments are "for the people" as long as "the people" referred to are the miniscule minority who support them.

Don't "for the people" me, you bloated tit.

I'm a little worried about Mikey, that's a large suit for someone with heart problems.

I couldn't make things out.

Not just outside Canada, inside too. Seemed pretty obvious to me that the Ford clan started to cash in on Rob's behaviour. The crazier Rob got, the more press he got, the more Doug sidled in, then the more "spontaneous" press conferences would be had with Doug reciting lines and acting like the news caught him on the way to his 9-5 job at City Hall. Just one drawn-out clown show. Was hard watching his popularity increase considering I was clicking articles about them and thus contributing to the rise.

Mikey's still around? Has that kid done or said anything in the last four years? They could've put up a scarecrow and drinking bird to tap his vote button, I don't think anyone would've noticed.

Mikey was heavy in 2014 and lost weight, but wow, he ballooned!

He is much quieter then the rest of his family for sure, but I actually like that.

I wonder if this "government of all people", which has been used by many people, is the reason that the governing leader does not traditionally campaign in by-elections. Or is that more the appearance of using taxpayer money for partisan reasons?

From the Elections Ontario website at this link:

Registered Electors on List: 9,888,888
Voter Turnout: 58.00%
Progressive Conservative Number of Votes: 2,322,422
Percentage of Votes: 40.49%
Therefore, 58% times 40.49% equals 23.48% of the people were "for the PC's".
