But it looks like these knuckleheads have finally kicked it in gear and the building is rising at a solid pace.

They've been working on the podium section to the west which is now virtually at street level.
 
How close is the Ritz to street level? I apologize for the lackadaisical question but I'm rarely down this far in the city...:eek:
 
Communiqué # 14 Weeks of December 1 to December 31, 2007


Over the next few weeks the construction activities that will take place around the development of the RBC Centre and the Ritz-Carlton are as follows:

o The self-climbing core forming system, for the Tower elevator core, and pouring of the concrete for these walls, will continue upwards ahead of the concrete floor slabs. The core formwork is two floors above the floor slab that is being formed.

o Concrete slabs will be poured for floor levels 11, 12 and 13 in the tower area.

o Pouring of concrete slab on the podium area will be complete up to the ground floor level for the north half of the podium by the last week in December.

o The curtain wall installation will continue on the ground floor, the second floor of the tower will be completed and installation will commence on the third floor.

o The escalators will be delivered to the site and placed in their permanent location in the ground floor slab opening.

o The drywall subcontractor will start the layout and steel stud installation in the tower.

o The City of Toronto will be installing the city water and sewer service into the site from Wellington Street starting mid-December.

o The Ritz-Carlton will be forming and pouring the slab on the P1 parking level.

o Masonry work will continue on the P6, P5 and P4 slab.

o The installation of the base building permanent lighting will commence on parking levels P6, P5 and P4.

o The hook up of floor drains and water lines in process will continue.

o One third of the slab on the Ground floor of the Ritz Carlton will be poured.
