Having attended most of the community meetings on this, it still amazes me how the project has changed from what was originally presented and approved, including significant changes in tower height, population and number of units.

Probably for the better, given the opportunity the site provides with respect to city densification goals, as well as the population mix from 40 to 30% RGI.

Yet, the city recently reduced the site density allowance of the immediate surrounding areas from 1.5X to 1X...doesn't seem to make sense.
 
Looks like a joint soccer field and cricket pitch. It's nice to add these large athletic field spaces to downtown.

Not implosions.

They'll lift machines into the towers, crunching and jack hammering away, as was done with the first few that came down.

Implosion is not necessary here. The concrete isn't post tensioned and Regent Park hasn't degenerated to the point that political intervention is required.
