I guess in our society, regardless of province or muncipality, what is really the mission statement of the police at any level. Are they really that far removed from society to break the fabric of society which includes organized crime; crime being subjective in their eyes. Or are they really there to serve/protect/enforce the proles. There is no real way they can be totally independent, unless there is another force which persuades them to move in a certain way. It's all a big chess game.

thanks for the welcome! I just find some similarities. Am wondering if Tim Bosma did any heating/ac work in the Dixon area and maybe in wrong place at the wrong time, witnessed something he should not have. Plus Millard lived in Etobicoke as well. Millard involved in drugs and soft porn. If there is a sex tape, maybe Millard "helped" with it. Ford definitely has some nasty friends, the same ilk as the crowds Millard was running with. Did the Deco Label use the Millard air services for air freight? All this is speculation and I could be way out of line.

Whoa. As much as I would love to see Ford be prosecuted for SOMETHING, not every murder or missing person case is connected to him. I think we need to settle down with this "maybe s/he saw something they shouldn't have" crap. This is real life, not a mystery novel. People pick up on this stuff and it creates rumours that spread to Twitter, Reddit etc. and evolve into "fact"..."did you hear about Ford and the missing woman" etc.?

I agree,....but it has to be said, that at least 50% of what we are doing here is speculation.
I am sure some of the unsubstantiated stuff written here has already permeated out into the wilds of the interwebs to unduly influence the innocent.
It is a delicate balance.

MM said that Doug doesn't drink, not the mystery celebrity.

I think it'd be legitimate to discuss Jaclyn Dawe. Something is definitely fishy there.

Agreed. I certainly think the focus of the media next week will be the criminal aspect of all this, but too many crazy unsubstantiated rumours are flying around right now and we should be careful.

But still, to a point it's fair that with so many insanely ridiculous but justifiable questions being asked by the media but not being answered, people are going to fill in the blanks with their own answers and some of those are going to be crazy.

A few might end up actually being true.

I think it's reasonable to see certain names in the ITO and ask, openly, without offering elaborate theories based on zero evidence, "Could there be a connection?" But just picking random murders and yelling "Ford!" is harmful. I also think the Dawes thing is in really poor taste as her case is still open.

Not when it involves creating scenarios where she's involved in making sex tapes with Rob Ford. She's still missing and has a family, I think we need to be aware and respectful of that. There's nothing connecting them right now except the address.

And that's why I said what I said. I think it's natural to ask questions and be curious but to create scenarios that sound like something from a detective novel, and dragging in unlinked people, are inappropriate, IMO.

Was it wrong to think this would make a fun game?
I know we have all brainstormed on the mini series and movie versions of this saga, but what about a video game? Dats where da big money is.

Have you gone out lately? No offence, but that "same address" means something. Do you know what crack houses in Toronto are? Community centres for krunkheads. As and yes, I know a thing or two about this.

You're right.
! It is smelly though. Just have to wait on this one.

Y'know, makes me think. Within this thread, and within UT in general, I was right out of the gate--and contentiously at that--with the speculation that, unchecked, the Ford mayoralty could well play out as a macabre nightmare scenario. That is, this wasn't just another bumbling right-winger a la Mel Lastman, Larry O'Brien--this was worse. *Far* worse. Maybe even Belfast-at-its-nadir worse.

Well, when it comes to "macabre", don't say I didn't tell you so.

You are not alone in being a Cassandra, but just because you've been proven right doesn't mean people who didn't listen before will listen now. I like to think I listened, but I can't say for sure. I was probably too caught up in complaining that people weren't listening to me to listen to you.

Was it wrong to think this would make a fun game?

GTA VI = GTA

We don't know that 51 Benway is a crack house, who Kenneth Boot is or really much of anything about it...or if Jaclyn's even connected to any of these people. Yes, it's weird but as I said, she's still missing and has a family that I'm sure wants to know what happened to her. I don't think sordid speculation is going to help.
