Just did a TPL search of Toronto Star and G&M archives. The only references to a "Doug Ford" before the 1980s is to the New York-based PGA golfer and to the city works commissioner (no relation, one assumes). "Douglas Ford" comes up empty as well.

I found this article about Doug Ford Sr.
He mentions The Sun twice and doesn't like the people in the gallery. :rolleyes:

Certainly, both Rob and the backup-mayor, brother Doug, inherited some of Doug Sr’s “diplomacy”.
Below is a speech Dad Ford gave in the Legislature, during the heated Megacity debates...

So the Escalade has been removed, after the plates were put on, but so far nobody knows who picked it up.

Lancaster says that a "white Deco SUV" (as he called it) dropped someone off nearby who walked into the pound and drove out in Rob's Escalade. Randy, of course, drives a white Escalade with the vanity plate DECO TOR and Deco, after all, is the lessee (registered owner) of Rob's Escalade.

OT but the Griffin Centre is having a benefit boat cruise:

There's also going to be a benefit concert at the El Mocambo june 15:

yeah I saw that a little while ago. now we know where Rob & Doug got their ideas that people who participate in politics by sitting in the gallery don't have jobs. :rolleyes:

@SunDoucette 40m

Yep, it's come down to this. Media hanging around waiting for someone to pick up a damn car. A CAR! *rolls eyes a thousand times*
edit: I assume CP24 will have their chopper in the sky following the car around because that's what they do.
well, they want to see who picks it up and whether the plates magically reappear & where they were. Though so far no clear answer on either. :rolleyes:

All that media camped out, and no one could identify who picked it up?

Sheesh, I guess we'll have to wait until the Escalade tweets about it.

Probably an employee of Deco selected by Randy for two stellar qualities: has a drivers license and is not known to the media.

well, at least that puts to rest who really owns the car/leases it.

Here is a Ted Herriott, b 1932, who co-authored a book titled "The Canadian Heritage Label Collection" with none other than AJ Casson. A copy is available in the Central Reference Lieberry. Sounds like our man.

I saw one review: "I love these old labels! They are gorgeous, gorgeous!! One of the interesting things is that back then, the labels often showed industrialized factories with big chimneys, whereas now, product labels (especially food products) tend to show the scenery of a farm, or nature."
