EKOS is also the only firm to call the recent provincial election correctly.

Their methodology seems to be the most solid: landlines plus random dialing of cell numbers. Landline only, which is what Forum uses, results in over representation of average over 60 and PC voters. (Seriously, how many people do you know who still have a landline?) Online only, which is what Ipsos relies on, is based on voluntary sign up.
about 75% of the people I know. including myself. :p

I'm looking forward to an EKOS poll on Toronto mayoral race. We'll finally get a sense of where the race is really at.

it'd be interesting if a poll asked something like "who would you vote for ideally -- if you didn't feel the need to vote strategically. It'd give us a glimpse into candidates like Soknacki.

Imagine if everyone who feels like they would like to vote for him -- but worries that he's too far away from having a shot -- found out just how many other people are thinking the same thing.

I was about to say this was exactly the meeting I was referring to, only to discover it was from four years ago.
Turns out that "it doesn't meet the warrants," is an oldie but a goodie.
I wish Rob would "meet some warrants" if you know what I mean.

I, like RoFo, am I fluffy dude. I have gout and diabetes, which, at least in my case, tends to cause trouble with my big toes, not the baby toe.

I did break my baby toe a few years back, when I was about Rob's age. Never having broken anything before, I did pop into the ER, and was out again pretty fast since the only thing they can do for it is to use some medical tape to bind it to the next toe.

I did limp for about a week, I recall.

It's probably just an ingrown toenail, which can require minor surgery. They just don't want the headline: "Toronto Mayor at hospital today for ingrown toenail"

I also have diabetes. The concern with feet/hands is that you don't notice cuts etc and they become infected. Ford's just been in the greatest rehab ever; they should've noticed any festering sores. I still think he noticed his toe hurt like hell so he went to a hospital near work. Then again, why not just release a statement to that effect? Too simple I guess.

I doubt DMW will be holding up another sign anytime soon:

We are "old fashioned" and still have a land line. However, I know some people who just use a cell phone.

As for Rob's health, diabetes is probably the least concern at this point.

^^ I'm getting rid of my landline when I switch providers. Would have done it already but if I get rid of even 1 service I lose the bundle discount. Landlines are only useful for nuisance marketers these days.

Just picked this up from Newstalk 1010 (because I only have so many free clicks elsewhere). Foot and Coach:

NEWSTALK 1010 has been told Ford has had ongoing issues with the toe and somehow aggravated the injury.

At first, Ford's office said the Mayor planned to have surgery to address the problem some time next week. The Mayor's spokesman has since said he in fact has no immediate plans to have an operation.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ford's brother, councillor Doug Ford, confirms the Mayor's sobriety coach is taking a step back.

He will not be with Ford day-to-day.

Councillor Ford says his brother is ready to tackle his addiction without round-the-clock support and that Mayor Ford will be in touch with the Montreal-based addictions treatment specialist on a regular basis.

And the Mayor couldn't have had this seen to in the last 60 days he was off walking around Muskoka?
