If the biopsy has not been completed how could anyone know? There is so much speculations, I suspect a strong case of
speculatotis.

I suspect the initial biopsy has been completed - they're probably just waiting on the follow up tests. But given that it has apparently now been confirmed that there will be an update tomorrow - by hospital staff only - they obviously know the answer. They wouldn't be planning that if they didn't have all of the tests back yet and instructions from the family on how to proceed.

We shall see. My info is almost always right!

Oooooh! Looks like we have a veritable JimmiT vs. MetroMan showdown!!!!

In the first corner, we have:

Apparently it's likely terminal cancer--very serious. Source could be wrong of course.

I'm actually hearing now that it is indeed cancer and it's spread. Pretty legit source.

In the second corner, we have:

Pedro Marques ‏@MetroManTO Sep 12
Ford family insider: benign mass was detected in May, Rob wanted to wait until after election to remove it. Used it to switch seats today.

That's right, an EPIC battle between Ford family sources! And this one is FTW: there can only be ONE winner!!!!

(Ok, maybe not. Turns out they could both be right if Ford's original benign tumour was diagnosed incorrectly.)

Rob will still be on the ballot no matter his condition, but I doubt that he would tell people not to vote for him even if he was on borrowed time. He just can't be that humble.
If he were to die before the ballots are printed, he would be removed.

Though even if this is terminal, it would be hard to think that someone who was running up the long stairs at the Don Mills subway station a week ago would go so quickly.

If it indeed a nasty dx, why is Doug telling the press he'll ramp up his campaign once he gets over this "little bump" with his brother? Terminal cancer is no "little bump".

haha I hope I'm wrong, partly because I don't wish the guy physical harm and partly because I want to see him eventually prosecuted for his crimes.

Oh man... so many awesome things can come of Doug in the mayoral race, and the Legend of the Donated Salary finally getting squashed is one of them. Media, you there? Whoever laid this one to rest would have serious bragging rights.

Yes, the wonderful legend that often gets attributed upon Saint Rob as well. Seriously, I'm willing to bet half of IHTWOMRF believes that Rob donates his salary to charity.

If Charity is the name of a drug-running escort, I'd believe it.

Because I think she ratted out the whole family in her police interview.

God I hope so.

Exactly, that's why it's likely that he won't drop out. But I mean, what kind of insane denial would he have to be in, facing cancer mets and staying in the race? It's just unbelievable.

If it is true that he is returning constituent calls, how sad is that? It's likely the only thing besides drugs and alcohol that he can use to handle his life (read: escape) at such a time.

I wonder if it's not so much denial as it is simply pig-headedness. Ford knows no shame, no tact, no grace - he has a narrow-minded focus. The drive that tells him that he needs to wear a suit all of the time and worry about saving taxpayer money is the same drive that tells him that he is only a success if he is liked by people, i.e. elected. If he is actually sick, and given his penchant for lying, I'm not convinced that he is, then he may well have accepted his sickness and thinks that the only way he'll get redemption is by winning an election.

Just so that I am clear, I do not hope for him to be sick. I hope that he gets clean and healthy and then suffers a crushing defeat at the polls.

I don't think he would go that fast though.

A family friend died of cancer and I asked my mom about it. She had been feeling tired for a long time and eventually had to retire. When she went to the doctor to figure out why she was like that, they did tests and found a malignant tumour that was inoperable and terminal. She died a year after that.

I wonder how Doug figures in his crimes.

It varies - a few months is common. Weeks is not unheard of.

Eventually, there will be leaks.

This is why long-term conspiracies involving a significant number of people don't succeed.

Yep. Conspiracy theories involve the complicity of hundreds or thousands of people. It never happens that the number shrinks, it only ever grows. Which is why conspiracy theories are completely stupid.

Very true. Cancer can ravage you for years or for a very short time. Doug Sr. died three months after his diagnosis. My wife's grandma took six months to succumb to it.

This is true. I've had that discussion with people. They are so uninformed and, ok -- stupid, that they don't even know which Ford said what. Doug's promise to donate to charity has benefitted Rob unfortunately.
