Voted. I was on the fence right up to the point of marking that line. As a life-long NDP voter, Olivia's my team. And yet, I voted for Ari Goldkind. While I'd vote Olivia my MP and have great respect for her, she failed miserably this election. Her inability to strike at Ford ignorance, corruption and lies turned into a tacit endorsement of their combined actions. Ari offered the plan that I want for the city, and didn't shy away from calling out the BS of the Ford circus. While neither of my choices will likely win, I felt Ari deserved the show of support that comes with a single vote.

It does if you remember that Jan Wong actually spent time in China in her youth and admitted to being indoctrinated to the point of reporting a classmate who had asked her for help in escaping to the West. And she wore a Mao suit during that time.
Ah. I did not know that! Yes, I guess that would have worked then!

I don't think it's an allusion to Layton as Uncle Duke. I doubt Donato reads Doonesbury - he'd probably find it an 'elitist' strip with 'too many words'.
Surely that caricature of Chow was supposed to look like Honey.

Just curious:

How many of you never received your voter card? I didn't get mine, though my wife got hers. We've been in the same building for 6 years now, and have voted for numerous elections with our current address (including obviously last municipal election). I've heard mention numerous times on twitter that others haven't received theirs. Something about that seems a little fishy.

The Royal York 'we', to be precise.

Hah, nice! So, what are the odds of Doug doing a call to peace and conciliatory concession speech vs doubling down on the class baiting tonight? Or would he even say anything? Would the media even respond to his calls the same way as before? Oh if only Doug had his casino built, I could actually bet on all of this! Alas, you were far too visionary for this jerkwater burg, Doug. Don't fret though Doug. This is not the end, it's a new beginning for you. Like Chicago, for example.

Wait, is Doug Ford telling people on TV that they can vote at any polling station? Because that's 100% not true. #topoli

Mayor Ford says he'll be at mom Diane's house tonight to watch election results at about 8 p.m.

"Wednesday I've got to go back, do a CAT scan, take it from there," Mayor Ford says on CP24.

Not so sick as we were led to believe it seems. He thinks that Doug will get 45-50% of the vote.

At least Trudeau drew a proper Mao suit with four pockets. Some of Donato's audience might not even get the reference since it looks like some kind of army surplus jacket.

Ford math to the bitter end.

Rob Ford adds that he thinks Doug Ford will get about 45 per cent of the vote tonight.

Never got mine. My wife got hers, though. Have been at the same address for 15 years. We're in Ward 20 and I spent a long time in line at City Hall during the advance voting period (had a half-day off, fortunately) to get proof of registration, then headed to the polling station on Cecil as it was on my way home. Voting itself took 2 minutes, no waiting.

I am wondering how busy the voting station in our building will be. It was pretty quiet for the provincial election.

We got 2 out 3 cards at my house. My son was missed again, even though he has voted in every election over the last 8 years. Does anyone know where they get the names and addresses from? Is there a federal list, a provincial list and another for municipal?

eta - Doug is going door to door in TCH telling people to vote.

Resident at building entrance implores Ford to tour the building "it's falling apart." "I'll be your voice," Ford responds

So here's the story Kinsella and his partner were promising:
JOHN TORY BARS WOMAN BECAUSE OF HER MALE PARTNER

And Toronto mayoralty candidate again attempts to bully news media

TORONTO – Toronto mayoral candidate John Tory has decreed that Lisa Kirbie will not be permitted to provide political commentary for CityNews at his Election Night gathering – because of who Kirbie’s partner is.
