He is not entitled to our sympathy. Empathy, sure, as a fellow human being in pain. But that's it. Across the country hundreds if not thousands of other people are sick and actively dying. Most of them were better people than Rob ever was. He's not some sort of hardcore heroin addict who lived a marginalized life on the street after a long history of sexual abuse or neglect. He is a lying scumbag who would have sooner gone out and partied with 20 somethings and fucking drug dealers than spend time with his family.

Even that's not what earns my wrath - what earns it is the double standard that he demanded of others who're in the same shoes as he was, but were less fortunate in not being blessed by wealth. Where was his compassion, his understanding, him making a difference in the powers that were vested in him through his position? A big fat nothing, other than using it as a talking point to whip up support. That is utterly unforgivable.

Like - the talk about being "tough" with drug addicts - and yet demanded kid glove treatment himself.

Like - the talk about us not being able to afford medicare, that he "does not believe in it" - and yet turned out to be a heavy user of such to the very end.

Like - the talk about being tough on crime, and yet surrounds himself with characters of such dubious nature.

Like - the insistence of financial propriety from government, and yet being utterly opaque with his own office expenditures - e.g. salary of his staff with questionable roles, on the spot raises, favours using staff time, etc.

I'm thankful that we never had to deal with him being "in charge" during a horrible event like Brussels today. He couldn't cope with rain and ice storms, thankfully there were competent emergency people to deal with those situations. He certainly didn't show any leadership during those natural events.

He liked wearing the chain of office but none of the responsibility that comes with it.
