PEnd, did you see if they had dug any deeper than what is shown in your first pic? The bottom of the excavation seems pretty flat, which could suggest they are finishing the excavation.

Nope. It was flat all around the site. They did have one of those large, caterpillar-mounted jackhammers so they may be going down further.

I think we have to come to grips with the fact that this city is just not ready for colour - I can now honestly say that designers, architects, and people alike look to the 'gray men' in MOMO by Micheal Ende for their colour inspiration.
