Not allowing cars on it doesn't mean a street is closed! It opens so many other opportunities.

The street is currently closed to pedestrians, patios, market stalls, etc. Open it up!No, The street is currently open with no approved plan to close this year and the motion (now with correct year) recommends that the street be CLOSED this summer and, before October, that TEYCC receive and act on a Report for its PERMANENT Closure.
I would not say it is closed to pedestrians now, the street is now open to cars, trucks, cyclists and pedestrians. If this motion passed the street will only be open to pedestrians this summer and, one hopes, after a staff report and a further vote, it will continue like that 365 days a year. Let's hope so.The street is currently closed to pedestrians, patios, market stalls, etc. Open it up!
In City-government speak "Closing a street' means " CLOSURE - A temporary or permanent full or partial closing of a street"" In this case I suppose to be exact it's a partial closure. It's all in your point of view. Closure sounds like no one can use it when the point is to open it to non-vehicular uses.
Yes, good to see. Pity they wasted $$$ by laying asphalt on the south sidewalks just before New Year and are now digging them up again but I admit the weather has been very unseasonably warm!Pictures from this morning.
Mother Nature is helping with construction in the St Lawrence Market area.View attachment 456254One small section of sidewalk is getting replaced at a time!

It always seems packed- maybe some reno? Their website seems to be taking reservations NEXT week, but not this.I didn't see it mentioned anywhere here yet, but I noticed passing by that Score on King at the corner of King and Church had all the windows papered over on the inside today. Looks like it couldn't make it through the winter.
