ALDI, a US chain with over 1300 stores, uses grocery carts that require a 25 cent deposit.

I've been to two different Aldi stores in the US over the past year and neither one had those carts. I did see one in Windsor (a Zehrs, if I remember correctly) about fifteen years ago though. Other than that, I've only seen them in the Toronto area. I always assumed it was just an Ontario thing.

Interesting, because the ALDI website includes a video on how to use their carts with the deposit, lol

I can't imagine that these carts, or the phenomenon of carts being taken off the supermarket property and ending up in ditches, is strictly an Ontario thing.

Bubbles would be out of a job if he lived in Ontario.

Another busted light

I saw another one of the new street lights busted today just east of Jarvis. What are they doing about this? They break at the base as soon as you touch them. Who is our councillor?
