At least the current timeline with the CN Tower is better than the Great Pyramid of Toronto. That proposed pyramid is truly appalling. We dodged one hell of a bullet by not having that get built. Jesus.

Union Station looks so tiny in that proposal, in the Metro Centre proposal Union Station was going to have 40 platforms:There have been a few but the largest was the 1968 Bold Concept and Harbourfront Plan which reinvisioned the central waterfront area (Woodbine Ave all the way to Humber River), though I cannot find drawings of the eastern portion at the moment. IIRC, the eastern portion was ~6 identical block wide office buildings.
It had a large number of options but included one for filling in most of the western lake connecting the Islands to the shoreline. I think Ontario Place fell out of this portion of the plan.

Oh, and here's an early Harbour Square proposal:

With all the doom and gloom about potential bottlenecks in the East-end of the line from a lack of grade separation, is there any precedent for speeding-up an LRT with effective signal priority after it’s built in North America? I remember Edmonton having a lot of issues with their implementation, but I was curious if there any successes in a North American context.

saw endless training cars moving in both directions, I eventually lost count. They were moving pretty quick too. I asked for a quick ride but they wouldn't let me in

A giant tombstone or sacrificial altar. The two purposes of the pyramid. I suppose we could have buried PET under it.The pyramid would have been amazing as a landmark mixed-use building, but the overall urban design of that proposal was ghastly. It had no relationship with the traditional street grid.
Perhaps there's a reason they've taken a couple of weeks break to training that we aren't privy to.The tracks are very rusty, so it clearly shows that they haven't been beautiful testing or training the last few weeks. Are the operator courses already finished?
