Things are quite different west of Spadina compared to the entertainment district.

Yeah, different height limits are also zoned for south Front street, same goes for west Bathurst street.....in other words, there are three major throughfares where on one side of the road current zoned heights drastically differ from the other side... Anyways, hope for an iconic development for this intersection.

I heard the opposite, that the latest news is that KMPB is now working on a 20-30 storey building as the Globe has partnered with another tenant to increase the height of the building. There is also to be some sort of "event space" at ground level.

It was originally supposed to be in the seven floor range. I got this from a G&M employee, but it was from some time ago (a newspaper employee too, so don't expect accuracy).

Is the 20 to 30 floor building for the corner you mentioned? The parcel owned by Thompson is quite large, and there are rumours of quite a few taller buildings (relative to the area) being proposed for these lands.

Got a sneak peak at a rendering. Impressed by the investment that Globe and Mail is putting into animating the street level. They are indeed trying to modernize themselves into a new media company.

We're in for a treat next Monday. It's going to radically change that intersection. King West and Wellington Place neighbourhoods have a very bright future.

...and radically change Cityplace also. :) Where's the rendering that you saw?

Wow, this is very (s)exciting! On Jan 23, we find out details about the 199 and 205 Yonge St. development and on Jan 30, we find out about this project.... :)
