In the Durham region blog post they stated that “all buildings will be developed in 4 to 5 years”. However when I listened to the meeting myself, I heard it will take 4 to 5 years before we see any building rising above ground. Can someone confirm which one is right.

Daily Commercial News has a piece out on what's going on here:

From this, we pick up a few key things.

1) OPB is exiting the ownership here and it's going to CentreCourt Developments.

@interchange42 should we change the title to reflect CentreCourt at this point (sale is conditional and hasn't yet closed)

2) This in regards to the timing:

3) The road grid proposed is now going to be entirely (or mostly public):

Centrecourt also stated (in the last council meeting) that they have no plans to redevelop the mall at this juncture.

Still far from the original plans with all the public infrastructure within. If this becomes a condo /retail only it wood be a shame.

If only PTC was managed by Cadillac Fairview, Oxford or even Rio Canada.

The city voted last night to move ahead with developing business case for the below option (D) of moving The Esplanade south (road), south, and building library and senior/youth centres on already owned lands. They are also going to build a skating rink/water feature on the designated parkland portion of the PTC project.

At first glance seems underwhelming for a downtown, but at least something as original plan cost became well out of reach. I also found it annoying the kpmg/architects kept referencing NYC areas in comparison. I have little knowledge of this field but seems all a bit rushed/band-aid like; I'd be interested to see what others on here think. Perhaps when more details come out it'll be more impressive.

Full details in the meeting agenda here

I believe that idea has shifted to the potential crossing near the hydro corridor near valley farm; beyond 2030s.

im not sure why the developer ever advertised it, it always was valley farm road connecting to sandy beach road
Yes I’ve seen that plan, maybe once Universal City is built out?
And what ever happened to Notion and Squires Beach connection? I know Ajax thru a hissy fit about it after Pickering got the casino, even though they supported the idea for decades before…
