Just documenting the current status. The temporary North Market opens June 20th. I think they are waiting on demolition to begin once the PanAm games are over.

The photo may have been overkill but it did show a view of the site that is not often documented. The BIA offices (they were on west side) are 'on the move' and once the market and antique vendors move out after 20th June the archaeological work will start inside the existing building shell. It is not certain how long this will take but being under cover means they can work every day and as this has been a market site since 1803 they expect to find 'something'. (For e.g. there used to be a well.) Actual demolition is not expected to start before October.
 
And the new temporary market opens.
