Yep, the excavation was actually pretty quick, if I recall. But once they encased the subway and erected these pillars, it's slowed right down.

There has been quite a few workers on site each time I’ve passed by in the last little while. Seems like things are moving along again

They were pouring the ground floor slab at the south end of the site when I walked by just now. The ground floor looks complicated (it can't be easy to hide all of the ramps and servicing for an above ground garage), but at least now there'll be more visible progress

People have commented on the deadening effect of the podiums, but with some fortunate or creative retail it might work out. In any case I’m looking forward to much wider sidewalks which yonge needs.

Does anyone know what the current vs proposed sidewalk widths will be?

Walking on Yonge is getting harder with iPhone and wider girth of young people. I can’t believe how obese and slow moving young people have become:)

I’ve also noticed that when people are reading their iPhones they unconsciously drift towards the center of the sidewalk.

Finally above grade. I would love to see an animated digram that explains the engineering involved for this project. Quite an engineering accomplishment. I hope the architecture lives up to the build.

Crowded site (a bit messy).
