lane closure on Yonge starts October 9th A pretty penny in fees for this - an estimated $451,000 to close it for the proposed length of time (2 years). That timeline only gets this to ground level too, the tower still needs to be built after that.

Also, the report states that the tower is 86 floors. Is there a reason for this?

Could be - but it's 85 floors including podium now.
 
Is that red thing a generator or a machine of sorts? Assume they're going to be demolishing the old foundations now.
 
The 82 storeys already included the mechanical/locker floors at each reveal in the building (the indented floors between each section of 18 storeys), with the 83rd being the roof garden. (Dashed lines above 83 don't really have floors in there as best as I know: that's just elevator overrun and some drama for the skyline.)
