Depending on testing tonight, its possible 4424 could enter service on Sat or the next few days.

Sorry, but there is no human rights violation taking place on TTC property and if a claim was file, it will never see the light of day.

As for Fare Inspection, Live with it as I have no issue with it. Pay your fare and you have no problem. Seen a few at Spadina Station trying to get back onto a car once they saw the enforcers.

I've seen people get back on the car to purchase there fare when they see an inspector. Most of the time one will get on and make sure that they do.

Even if the judge's view (assuming it survives appellate review) was adopted in Toronto under Ontario's provincial human rights code, all TTC would have to do to avoid it is a sufficient and persistent information campaign.
When TTC change the rule to everyone must retain POP while in the system, everyone can be subjected to a fine anywhere.

TTC only recently step up the campaign with more subway/bus ads along with a recorded message being played across the PA system in all subways after many complained about being fined after paying their fare. Many people continue to pay the streetcar and not take a transfer. Did the TTC do enough? I don't think so. How about just a big sign on every streetcar saying "Paying a fare and not obtaining POP will result in a FINE".

That's the rule in San Francisco on MUNI and it works fairly well. They often station inspectors at the top of escalators coming out of the subway. Pretty easy spot to catch people.

When Presto is fully rolled-out all passengers will need a valid Presto Card of some sort . If they retain any cash payment possibilities you will need a receipt so any other kinds of POP will no longer be necessary.

The receipt will be (it's in the contract with Presto) a single-use NFC card for cash fares that function the same as all other Presto cards but with limited durability.

While the current 204 Bombardier Outlook streetcar order could replace the current CLRV/ALRV fleet, the 60 additional streetcars (whether it be Bombardier or some other manufacturer) could be needed while or after while the Port Lands get developed.

Though this is interesting it belongs in either Fantasy Transit or Port Lands threads. This thread is about the current BBD order.

Except that the 514 Cherry Street Streetcar is already gotten down to the Distillery Loop (below Eastern Avenue and Mill Street, but in the shadow of the Gardiner Expressway). As well, the mixed traffic streetcar tracks are already in place on Leslie Street to below Lake Shore Blvd. East, ready for a streetcar right-of-way along Commissioners at some future date.

As for the Broadview Avenue extension, according to this link:

Broadview Extension

The Central Waterfront Secondary Plan (2003) includes an extension of Broadview Avenue south from Eastern Avenue, under the Lake Shore East rail corridor and connecting south of Lake Shore Boulevard into the Port Lands. This extension would include streetcars operating in an exclusive transit right-of-way. The planned extension of Broadview Avenue is currently included in Environmental Assessment Master Plan study for the South of Eastern Employment Lands and Port Lands. Changes to the transit network operating on Broadview Avenue could potentially impact the operations at Broadview subway station, and will have to be considered in the context of future transit planning work.

Not fantasy, some maybe in the planning & building stage. However, it's reality for part of the Cherry Street section.

Once again--interesting but off-topic from this thread which is about the current Flexity streetcar order.

I thought 4424 would be in service by today, but has been sitting in the yard the last day after been in the service bay for 2 days.

As for Cherry St, it can't happen until the "Month Of The Don" is 100% rebuilt to allow the building of the New Cherry St to the west of the Current location. Then you got to build a new underpass.

Bayview could happen sooner, but only to Commissioner as Phase 1. Going to Unwin is decades off. It been in the Transit Master Plan EA since 2004, but has change location a few times since then.
