^Oh dont worry, according to him Smarttrack is still on the way AND it's "fully funded"! That's something to celebrate I guess, isnt it?

So what's up at Castle Frank station. Saw a small drill rig a couple weeks ago. Now some construction at its eastern entrance. Would assume accessibility (elevator), but looked and that's not til 2023.

Hey everyone.

I'm currently at Union and they are turning trains for ATC work.

They are turning trains back north up Yonge but they are using the pocket track to turn trains. Any idea why they are not using the crossover from the University platform to the Yonge line?

If I had to guess...

The crossover to the east of the platform is, I believe, a minimum-radius curve or close to it, and thus will be harder on the equipment. It seems like they try to avoid using it, in any case.

Whatever work they are doing on the evenings this week, they aren't working between Union and St. Andrew, and thus they can use the spare track there to turn trains back.

The other factor in this is that they may want to keep the platforms operating as normal, rather than pushing everyone to the University-bound platform.

Everyone likes to laugh at the traffic at Bessarion station on Line 4, Sheppard. I drove to MEC North York this weekend to pick up something. Lo and behold it’s across the street from Bessarion Station. That is a little secret. No need to drive up there again. We can double the traffic with MEC shoppers. I’d take the subway next time.

Double the traffic? They’d probably quadruple it.

Mmmm... still quite dead. I've taken the subway there and it's still quite dead.

I was going past Bessarion last week toward the end of morning rush hour; saw one of the condo shuttles dropping off a good 10 people at the station. Does anyone know what the service frequency on those shuttles is like?

Retailers should get into the habit of mentioning that this store or that store is located at or within x metres of a rapid transit station or stop. Maybe the TTC's public relations department should actually have relations with the public (or businesses).

With Brad Ross, long time TTC face, gone from the TTC over to the city itself, they still haven't shown us a good replacement for the TTC public relations.

Remember "On The Rocket"?

That show wasn't TTC corporate communications. It was a city councillor trying to improve his personal brand because he was going to run for mayor.

Even still customer communications took a hit with Brad and Andys departure. Now they are tightening up on the information that gets out and despite Stuart Green trying his best I feel like he reads from a script.

Saw one of the new hybrid buses on the 939 today.
